Participants in the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Leadership Education & Advanced Direction (LEAD) Program spent a day with Georgia legislators at the Capitol building in Atlanta on February 18th. The group helped GTLA’s lobbyists make connections with legislators and identify potential problems in currently proposed legislation. Not only did the group meet Governor Nathan Deal (pictured above), but they also were privileged to hear Speaker of the House and fellow lawyer, David Ralston. One of the highlights from the day was watching GTLA members argue against a piece of legislation proposed by the Chamber of Commerce, which would have limited plaintiff’s right to properly conduct investigations into corporation misconduct.

The Nations Law Firm is proud that Buck Daniel was selected for the program.  Buck is pictured in the back row on the far right.

The LEAD Program was designed to identify those with leadership potential from among the Association’s younger lawyers.  The program will train and equip those members to serve in future leadership roles in both GTLA and in the community.
