Anti-Terrorism Act

There are foreign banks that work with terrorist groups to help fund terrorism. If you or a family member was injured or killed in the Iraq War or in Afghanistan, you may have legal rights. The Nations Law Firm is part of a consortium of law firms around the country who represent veterans and others who were injured or killed by terrorist acts abroad. We are actively filing lawsuits against these foreign banks under the U.S. Anti-Terrorism Act. For more information, click on Iraq War Fund℠.

BP Gulf Oil Spill

On April 20, 2010, BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, spilling over 4 million barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, causing the worst oil spill in U.S. history. In response to the disaster, BP hired thousands of people to help clean up the affected areas. BP knowingly exposed their clean-up workers to dangerous substances, which resulted in acute injuries, i.e., respiratory and skin conditions. They were spraying chemicals from a plane which sometimes sprayed down directly onto the clean-up workers who were in boats or picking up tar balls from the beach. BP did not warn the workers nor did they provide safety instructions or protective gear. It has now been 7 years since the oil spill and many of those workers now suffer from chronic diseases as a direct result of their exposure to the dangerous substances.

The devastation from the BP Oil Spill was far-reaching. Not only was the water contaminated, the fish and wildlife was also harmed and deemed toxic and not safe for human consumption. This directly affected thousands of residents in the Gulf area who depended on fishing and hunting to feed their families. The fishing and hunting areas were closed down for a year or more due to contamination. The residents had nowhere to fish or hunt which had a strong negative impact on their ability to take care of their families.

The Nations Law firm represents thousands of BP Clean-Up workers who suffered physical injuries and illness as a direct result of their exposure to toxic chemicals during the clean-up efforts. These are personal injury claims against BP. We also represent thousands of Gulf area residents who depended on fishing and hunting for subsistence. These are economic claims against BP.

Although BP announced setting aside a huge settlement fund to pay those injured by the Oil Spill, in reality, they continue to do everything in their power to not pay the claimants. At The Nations Law Firm, we continue to fight every day for our clients and will continue to do so until every eligible client receives their maximum settlement amount.
