The Nations Law Firm is a national litigation firm representing plaintiffs who have been injured by defective drugs, medical devices, and corporate wrongdoing. We also specialize in catastrophic injuries and wrongful death from other causes including trucking and other motor vehicle collisions, drunk driving, elevator malfunctions, birth trauma, amusement park injuries, and other defective products. In our business litigation practice we represent both plaintiffs and defendants. Currently the firm is representing people who have been injured by pharmaceuticals and medical devices such as Opioids, IVC Filters, Penumbra Neuro catheters, Zantac, and Hernia Mesh. Our individual catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases consist primarily of people injured or killed by trucking collisions, drunk driving and distracted driving, and we are currently reviewing the potential cases of veterans and others affected by the Iraq War Fund / Anti-terrorism Act. We have successfully prosecuted all kinds of injury cases, including roller coasters, water parks, elevators, forklifts, and medical malpractice.

We at The Nations Law Firm are a multi-faceted, diverse group of legal professionals dedicated and driven to achieve justice for our clients. There are 10 attorneys, including a lawyer-nurse and bilingual attorneys (Spanish). The Nations’ lawyers are trial advocates for those who have been grievously harmed by others. The firm carefully chooses the claims it will prosecute so that the attorneys can dedicate the requisite time and energy to move each case swiftly to trial or settlement. The Nations’ lawyers are supported by an experienced team of legal staff, most of whom have been with the firm for many years, including IT Administrator Andrea Schmauss and Paralegal Charles Bailey, who’ve each been with us for over three decades. The Nations Law Firm takes pride in the talent and commitment of its attorneys and staff, the depth of their expertise, and the teamwork they employ to respond to clients’ needs.

Mr. Nations is nationally board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocates, is certified as a Diplomate of Trial Advocacy by the National College of Advocacy, is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a personal injury trial lawyer, and is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a civil trial lawyer. He has over thirty years of teaching experience and is one of the best regarded and most sought after speakers in the legal profession. Mr. Nations has been heavily involved in mass torts litigation for several years. He served as a court-appointed member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) in the Zyprexa, Ortho Evra, and Gadolinium multi-district litigation (MDL), and also worked on the Executive Committee of the Ortho Evra MDL. Mr. Nations is currently an active member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the following MDL’s: BARD IVC Filters, COOK IVC Filters, and Cordis IVC Filters. He is also on the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee for the BARD IVC Filter MDL and is a member of the Leadership Committee of The Iraq War Fund, a national consortium of attorneys suing under the Anti-Terrorism Act on behalf of veterans and their families.

The Nations Law Firm has handled several high-profile cases, such as Jesica Santillan, the young Mexican girl who died after receiving organs of the wrong blood type in a heart-lung transplant at Duke Medical Center, and Hitoshi Nikaidoh, the outstanding young physician who was tragically killed while stepping into an elevator. More recent cases include the firm’s representation of thousands of clean-up workers and Gulf Coast residents who were physically or financially harmed by BP Oil Company’s wrongdoing, resulting from the explosion of BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil rig that caused the worst oil spill in U.S. history.
