Purdue Pharma L.P. and its affiliated Debtors filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on September 15th & 16th of 2019. The Debtors Seek to achieve a global settlement that would deliver more than $10 Billion in value allocating approximately $700-750 Million towards Personal Injury Claims.
Qualified Personal Injury claims were submitted to the court with a deadline of July 30th, 2020. As of June 30th, 2021 Purdue Pharma L.P. and debtors, report over 130,000 PI claims were filed with a total amount claims filed exceeding 620,000 against all parties in the debtors counsel.
On June 3rd Purdue Pharma and the affiliated Debtors filed their Fifth Amended Joint Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization to be voted upon by the respective parties. All eligible votes must be submitted by July 14th, 2021 to be considered for the confirmation hearing on August 9th, 2021.
