June 11, 2012 – Friend and former litigation support clerk of The Nations Law Firm, James Cespedes, has just graduated from the SMU Dedman School of Law! We couldn’t be more proud of James and his great achievements.

James obtained his high school diploma in 2005 from the Kinkaid School and subsequently moved to Nashville, TN to start college at Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt University, James was an orientation leader, Habitat for Humanity Volunteer, Vucept Leader, English Teacher for the Community Outreach Program, and participated in a work-study program. Each summer he returned to Houston, TX and interned with The Nations Law Firm. He actively participated on pharmaceutical mass tort cases and was a key translator for the firm. He graduated in 2009 with Honors, as a part of the Dean’s List, and was awarded the Jesse H. Jones Scholarship.

From there, James moved to Washington, D.C. for his first year of Law school at American University Washington College of Law. He then transferred to the SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas, TX where he was a member of the Hispanic Law Students Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. He was also the staff editor for the Science and Technology Law Review from 2010 to 2011. In May of this year, he had completed three difficult years of law school and arrived at the stage among the other graduates to acknowledge his great accomplishment and the title of Juris Doctor. It was here he was surprised with the even greater triumph of graduating with Honors.

The Nations Law Firm congratulates James on his hard work and dedication, and wishes him the best in his continued success in the legal profession.
