Jim Ashworth, J.D.
Jim Ashworth received his Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Houston and his law degree from South Texas College of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of Texas. In the 1970’s, straight out of law school, he worked as an associate for the Law Offices of Howard L. Nations before returning to his highly successful business career. Mr. Ashworth has served as a Special Prosecutor for the District Attorney’s office in Houston County, prosecuting cases for the Texas State Constable’s office. He also served as counsel for the Texas Crime Stoppers program. He conducted Chapter 59 forfeitures and assisted in prosecutions for U.S. federal offices, the Texas State Forfeiture Office, and the Texas State Forestry Service as well.
Since his return to the Nations Law Firm in early 2009, Mr. Ashworth has focused his practice on mass torts litigation. His business expertise has proven to be a great asset to the firm, particularly in our large mass torts cases. It is through skillful and efficient management that we are able to effectively handle thousands of cases at once while continuing to provide each client with the individual attention that he or she deserves.
