Patrick Kirby is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Arkansas. His practice is devoted primarily to litigation matters where he focuses on various product liability, personal injury and complex mass tort cases. Patrick has been a trial lawyer since the 1980s, and over his career he has litigated and negotiated cases across the country. He has tried cases to juries in Texas, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Missouri. Patrick has represented thousands of clients injured by dangerous products and devices.
Patrick received a Bachelor of Arts with honors and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Arkansas. He is admitted to the Texas State Bar, the Arkansas State Bar, the Federal District Courts in Texas and Arkansas and the US Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He has represented clients on both sides of the civil docket, from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and individuals. Patrick has been instrumental on a national level with cases involving asbestos exposure, silica, Thimerosal, Prempro and similar HRT drugs, Fen-Phen, TVM and Risperdal. Patrick has also served multiple courts in Texas as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in cases ranging from pipeline explosions to medical malpractice to dangerous pharmaceutical drugs.
Prior to joining The Nations Law Firm, Patrick devoted his thirty year career to trying high-stakes product liability cases, and deposing and preparing expert witnesses across the country. As a national trial counsel for nearly a dozen major parties to mass tort litigation, Patrick was instrumental in developing discovery and trial strategies for use by local counsel nationwide, and he often served as lead negotiator in settlement negotiations on behalf of these clients.
Patrick received his first AV rating (the highest possible rating in proficiency and ethics as judged by his peers) from Martindale Hubbell in 1998.
